Well, the advance party left at 4pm, rockin’ out to the rock solid blues of Jimi Hendrix and Albert Lee (Remi's choice but then it was his car and he was driving).
Dinky's supplied its normal fine fair of saturated fats. Chas will be upset to know that another CAP calling card is no more as we scoured the notice board in vain.
We were also surprised to see that news of CAP’s new environmental policy on running shuttles had been leaked to the local press.

The rest of CAP arrived at various times during the night on Friday. The Ransom Mobile proved that it hadn’t learnt anything from all those WWF wrestling video by being clothes lined in the car park and Gary eventually arrived after his SatNav felt that he needed an advanced rally driver route which took him over several welsh mountains.
Saturday morning, and after a cracking breakfast at the bunk house, we headed up to Canoe Centre to paddle the Lower Tryweryn. This turned in to a bit of a mission as some people were obviously feeling a bit hot because of the clement weather and decided to cool themselves in the river a bit too often.
Bala Mill Falls was reached and inspected before most people decided to give it a bash. Bash being the operative word here and more than a couple of people became detached from their boats while running the drop. After that, it was a quick blast into Bala to find a pub willing to serve us food.
The Pyranhafest party wasn’t as good as previous years but that didn’t stop some members of CAP from hitting the dance floor. Some people thought they were in the presence of legendary Happy Mondays frontman BEZ, but once they dry ice and smoke cleared were disappointed to only discover our illustrious chairman.

Sardines was the next game planned as we endured varying levels of pain squeezing into the Passion Wagon for the journey back to the bunk house.
Sunday Morning and another sumptuous breakfast was devoured by those people that managed to get up. It was then a quick blast back to the Canoe Centre for those people that had booked on to some coaching courses.

A quick scout of the Upper Tryweryn for those new to the river and then we were ready for a blast down. Standout of the day was Liz for playing on the Café Wave long after everyone else had called it a day.
Loaded up, we all headed back home after a good weekend.
